Asahi presents an opportunity to take EHS responsibility for our sites at Huntingwood and Prospect and help them continue their performance in environment, health, safety, risk management and supporting the wellbeing of the team through injury management and return to work.  You will partner with the business in the development, implementation and improvement of key EHS and injury management and return to work processes and provide consultancy, training, coaching and technical support to local personnel.  Performance reporting, implementation of standards and conducting audits will also form a key part of your remit.

 

Key responsibilities

In this important role, as Senior Manager - Environment, Health and Safety, you'll lead a team of EHS professionals in New South Wales to engage and partner stakeholders and drive the EHS culture at Asahi. You'll be responsible for ensuring all Environment, Health and Safety activities are executes for NSW. This includes but is not limited to:

  • Delivering on actions in our Strategic Health, Safety and Wellbeing Strategy
  • Leading a customer oriented (internal and external) Environment, Health & Safety team
  • Providing leadership and driving action on all aspects of safety and environmental management
  • Actively driving the organisations Safety vision and associated KPIs.
  • Ensuring all legal and regulatory requirements are met within the State or Region

 

About You

To be successful, you'll have demonstrated experience in an EHS people leadership role, ideally within the FMCG, manufacturing, or related environment. You'll have the natural ability to engage and influence stakeholders of different seniority levels, to ultimately drive a culture of EHS awareness. You'll also:

  • Experience in the planning, development and implementation of health and safety compliance programs and management systems.
  • Minimum of three years’ experience in an EHS Role in a manufacturing/FMCG environment.
  • Knowledge of ISO &/or Safety Management systems and their application in an FMCG environment
  • Outstanding stakeholder management, leadership and influencing skills across all levels (without direct line authority).
  • Working knowledge of relevant Environmental & Workplace Health & Safety Legislation and Australian Standards
  • Solutions-focused mindset with a strong understanding of the drivers of EHS compliance.
