Asahi Beverages is on the hunt for an experienced Senior Category Planning Manager to lead our beer portfolio in this newly created role. You’ll be responsible for building, delivering, and optimising annual category and commercial plans by channel—driving objective, insight-led strategies that unlock joint value for Asahi and our retail partners. This role is pivotal in aligning cross-functional teams—including Sales, Marketing, Finance, Demand Planning, and CS&L—to execute against our Medium-Term Plan (MTP) and annual budget with precision and impact.
Key Responsibilities:
Ownership and governance of Commercial Plan and results
- Develop the 5P commercial plans
- Co-ordinate activation plans and calendar by category/channel
- Lead the financial build across IBP horizons by category
Define and implement the strategic agenda for the category in conjunction with Marketing, Category Development and RGM
- Govern in year pricing and promotional plans
- Be accountable for voice of Customer/Channel & Category into Stage & Gate Process
- Drive innovation, activation, and big bet delivery
Execute initiatives and go to market tactics with excellence, adapting to changing market conditions and exploiting short term opportunities
- Actively participate in planning and alignment sessions with Sales team to deliver optimised point of purchase strategies (5Ps) in line with annual budgets and customer expectations
- Develop and align best in class activation plans for NPD with sales and category marketing and track NPD performance and recommend response strategies to leverage success or minimise impact
About You
- Tertiary qualification – Commerce or Marketing preferred
- Extensive FMCG experience in Sales/Marketing (Commercial Function)
- Category Development experience highly desirable
- Demonstrated experience in Commercial/Category Planning, including managing NPD, events, and activations.
- Strong track record in commercial activity planning and tracking, with the ability to drive results.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to influence internal and external stakeholders.
