An exciting opportunity is available for a Technical Engineer - Can Seaming to join our national team! Reporting to the Group Manager - Reliability & Maintenance, you will be responsible for supporting machine efficiency, maintenance programs, Asset Life-Cycle management, and building the capability of our maintenance teams across 10 manufacturing sites. Based in either Melbourne or Brisbane, you'll engage regularly with sites across Australia, with periodic travel to support as a subject matter expert.
In this role you can mold your position to transition from more hands-on work to a more strategic role, as you are successful in building the skills of our various sites to optimise their maintenance planning, asset management, trouble-shooting and corrective maintenance capability.
Key Responsibilities
As a subject matter expert in Can Seaming, you will support 10 manufacturing sites across Melbourne, Brisbane, Sydney, Perth, Tasmania, and New Zealand, in the following:
- Leading efforts with site Reliability Engineers to enhance machine efficiency and performance.
- Guide Maintenance & Reliability teams in developing and implementing preventative and predictive maintenance programs to reduce downtime, aligning on best-practice across the Supply Chain.
- Overseeing the equipment Life-Cycle and managing the Risk Profile across operational sites, with a long-term asset replacement strategy.
- Supporting sites with commercial acumen, and assisting in building their Reliability & Maintenance budgets
- On-site assistance for repairs, shutdowns, training, and strategic engagement with sites, as needed.
- Developing and ensuring adherence to national engineering standards, across our network.
- Leading and mentoring Reliability & Maintenance Engineers to achieve business goals related to quality, cost, delivery, safety, and morale (QCDSM), and focusing on long-term reliability improvements.
About You
- Mechanical Engineering or trade qualification, or a related discipline with strong mechanical aptitude
- 10 years of experience in a similar role within Reliability or Maintenance, working with Can Seaming equipment.
- Extensive experience in Can Seaming equipment, maintenance programs, spare parts, quality checks and repairs.
- Strong Project Management experience and knowledge of Risk Assessment.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities with high technical aptitude.
- Strong time-management skills, and the ability to juggle multiple priorities as once.
- Effective communication skills and the capability to work collaboratively across teams, remotely and in-person.
- Ability to coach and mentor site teams to effectively build capability in Reliability & Maintenance of Can Seaming equipment.
