Your Impact

We are currently looking for casual operators to join our Packaging team at Hobart’s iconic Cascade Brewery. Reporting to the Packaging Team Leader, the primary responsibilities of our Packaging Operators include but are not limited to:

  • Operating and optimising high speed packaging equipment to the highest of work standards
  • Maintaining a clean and safe work environment
  • Actively participating in continuous improvement activities across safety, quality and efficiency within packaging environment
  • Monitoring packaging processes and taking action to prevent problems (including root cause analysis tools)
  • Quality checks and recording of packaging material usage
  • Loading and maintaining packaging materials to machines as required
  • Ownership of process areas including 5S, HACCP and safe working practices
  • Other duties as required

 

The hours may fluctuate however work will predominantly be performed day shift, Monday to Friday. Car parking and site uniform are provided. This is a casual role for coverage over our summer peak period.

 

Who you are

Our successful candidate will be able to demonstrate the following:

  • Demonstrated relevant experience within a manufacturing environment, preferably FMCG
  • Prior experience and licensed to operate a forklift (highly regarded but training available for the right candiddates)
  • Ability to identify and support opportunities to continuously improve the safety, quality and efficiency of all operations within a packaging or warehouse environment
  • Excellent workplace behaviours including strong teamwork, integrity and consistency
  • The ability to work safely and have the physical capacity to perform the manual tasks associated with the position
  • Participation in process improvement teams and work activities
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and the ability to troubleshoot issues
  • Highly motivated and have the ability to work unsupervised, as well as part of a team
  • Experience and knowledge of computerised control panels and Microsoft office applications
  • The ability and willingness to learn new skills
  • Experience working within a lean manufacturing environment is an advantage.
