Your Impact

Working within our Group Supply Chain function, make a significant impact in the role of Materials Leader based at our Southbank head office. You will lead the site-based Raw Materials teams across 4 Australian manufacturing facilities within the Asahi Beverages group. In this position you will play a crucial role in ensuring availability of and improving management of materials (packaging and ingredients) at sites. A strong leader, you will support your team, build relationships and drive accountabilities with key stakeholders, and engage with suppliers to manage escalations and to ensure continuity of supply.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, motivate and direct site Raw Materials teams who action all ordering, receipt of deliveries and raw materials inventory management activities on site.
  • Ensure availability of materials at manufacturing sites by executing the immediate (four week) horizon including management of raw material inventory on site.
  • Review materials availability and tactical constraints, and coordinate issues and solutions.
  • Build relationships and drive accountabilities with key stakeholders in national teams (Raw Materials Planning, Supply Planning, Portfolio Planning, Procurement) and site teams (Manufacturing, Supply Planning, Quality).
  • Manage site-based supplier escalations and liaise with Raw Materials Planning and Procurement for resolution.
  • Streamline, standardize and document processes at sites to improve materials management/availability and to cross train team members across sites.

 

About You

As an experienced leader, you will be someone who seeks to empower their team to work cohesively across multiple-sites. Your experience in Raw Materials or Direct Materials Planning across a region, or multiple sites, will give you the skills to ensure effective operations allow our sites to meet production targets.

To be successful in this position, you will need:

  • Significant experience in a materials management or inventory role within a related industry, preferably for a complex FMCG.
  • Experience in multi-site, multi-SKU environment with high demand volatility and a short product life cycle.
  • Confident with ERP and Production/Replenishment planning systems.
  • Highly effective and confident communicator and negotiator, able to work independently and behave decisively under pressure
  • Ideally tertiary qualified with a Supply Chain/Business Degree or relevant qualification.
