The opportunity

As part of our new Group Growth & Strategy function, this role is responsible for driving long-term value from our multi-beverage strategy.


As we continue to drive for excellence, you will identify new beverage growth opportunities, oversee the group-wide innovation pipeline, and drive innovation in beverage brewing, liquid, pack and delivery. You will also play a critical role in growing the Asahi Beverages region by identifying and pursuing incremental opportunities such as new channels, markets, and beverage products.

You will utilise your strategic mindset and strong financial acumen to ensure that choices relating to investment, prioritisation and focus across the Group are made consistent with the Asahi Beverages strategy and our understanding of consumers, occasions, categories, and the market. Furthermore, where new beverage growth opportunities are pursued, there is accountability for delivery of the business case and financial targets.


Other key responsibilities include

  • Develop business cases for new global brand opportunities & growth and coordinate with the business divisions and regional functions to enable delivery
  • Develop Asahi Beverages 3+ year innovation strategy (Liquid, Pack) to ensure it aligns with planning, strategy and group-wide insights
  • Provide leadership, oversight and direction to brewing and beverage innovation as well as consumer and sensory science
  • Develop a group-wide innovation pipeline to put together one view of innovation initiatives and identify gaps against strategy and investment priorities
  • Facilitate the Group Portfolio Management Review forum and incorporate with the Multi-beverage Strategy
  • Develop and roll-out best practice for innovation processes, supporting business divisions to incorporate these into their rhythms, drive continuous improvement and uplift organisational capability Innovation best practice
  • Lead and manage team; creating an environment that drives ownership, accountability and high-performance


 About You 

  • Proven background in a large scale, matrixed organisation in FMCG or Beverage Industry
  • Strong knowledge and experience in commercial, sales, marketing and/or innovation 
  • Demonstrated strategic thinking to identify and solve new problems as well as strong analytical and financial acumen
  • Extensive experience identifying, evaluating and delivering new business growth opportunities
  • Highly collaborative – able to engage and influence business division teams to pursue multi-beverage strategies that maximise value for the total Region
  • Able to juggle multiple competing priorities and time pressure
  • Strong ability to work autonomously to define and lead new beverage growth opportunities
