The Role

We’re looking for an experienced Blending Technologist, to work as a specialist within our Blending team based at our Papakura manufacturing plant. This role is working on rotating shifts morning, afternoon and night – so, you’ll need to be flexible and committed to shift work, and you’ll need to have reliable transport to attend work at various shift times.

This role works as the 2IC within the team, and is responsible for improving and optimising our blending processes. You’ll oversee all aspects of our blending processes, and we’re looking for a heavy hitter to enable maximum efficiency in our busy team. 


Key Responsibilities

  • 2IC to Blending Coordinator
  • Actively overseeing blending processes, seeking opportunities for optimisation
  • Quality control and food chemistry checks
  • Lifting & handling ingredients, including chemical handling
  • Following recipes and managing end-to-end blending processes
  • Ensuring necessary administration is completed on time and in full
  • Building strong relationships with internal stakeholders, and maintaining clear and effective communication
  • Participation in continuous improvement and efficiency drives for ever better  manufacturing


About You 

We’re looking for someone who is well versed in the blending field, and can add true value to our entire team. You’ll have team leadership experience and will be someone who actively works to engage and drive their team members.


Working in a busy team, you’ll need strong resilience and tenacity to work under pressure, and will need to be planned and organised to manage a fluctuating workload.


Your work standards will be second to none – responsible for our adherence to strict food safety and quality requirements, your attention to detail and process adherence will drive maximum efficiency and compliance within the team. 


The ‘must haves’:

  • Postgraduate Degree in Food Technology/Chemistry or similar
  • Experience working in food or beverage manufacturing within the FMCG sector
  • Team leader / leadership experience
  • HACCP experience
  • The job is a physical one – so you’ll need to be able to safely lift up to 25kg, on a repeated basis
  • Chemical handling experience
  • Forklift Licence
  • Competent with MS Office suite 
  • You’ll also need to hold the legal right to work in New Zealand
