Your Impact

Reporting to the Quality Manager, the Quality Systems Coordinator role at Welshpool will be responsible for the custodianship, implementation, and continuous improvement of integrated quality systems, including food safety management systems, within our manufacturing operations. You’ll play a pivotal role in ensuring compliance with regulatory and third-party standards while driving initiatives that enhance operational effectiveness, product quality, and total quality management outcomes across the site.

 

Please note: This role is for a 4-month Fixed Term Contract starting in August 2025 until the end of the year.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Custodianship and management of Quality & Food Safety based Systems — including FSSC 22000, GMP, HACCP, PRPs, and other third-party standards.
  • Manage and lead external audit programs, including documentation control and production records management.
  • Conduct relevant internal audits, facilitate gap analysis and closure with stakeholders, and drive effective implementation of corrective and preventative actions.
  • Lead and champion the continuous improvement of quality assurance and control processes within manufacturing operations.
  • Actively participate in or lead problem-solving activities relating to manufacturing quality issues.
  • Facilitate quality systems and improvement workshops to strengthen quality and compliance culture.
  • Support the business in driving productivity improvements through quality systems optimisation and process simplification.
  • Provide advice on nationally developed procedures and support centralised Quality initiatives.

 

About You

You have extensive hands-on experience in Quality roles within FMCG manufacturing environments, complemented by a solid technical foundation in Quality Systems, Food Safety, and Continuous Improvement practices. Additionally, you’ll bring:

  • Previous experience in Quality, Production, or Continuous Improvement roles within an FMCG manufacturing environment.
  • Intimate knowledge of GFSI standards (e.g. FSSC, SQF, BRC) and HACCP principles, with a solid understanding of GMP and SOPs.
  • Proven experience in change management and operational performance improvement projects.
  • Demonstrated success using Project Management tools such as MS Project, alongside proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • A track record of delivering Continuous Improvement initiatives, using methodologies like Lean, Six Sigma, TOC, or TQM.
  • Strong problem-solving, facilitation, and relationship-building skills, coupled with a proactive, collaborative, and self-managed approach.
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Food Technology, Science, Engineering, or a related discipline is beneficial.
