Your Impact

Join a leading beverage company and take the next step in your career as an Engine Room Operator at our Yatala site. This role is ideal for individuals who prefer independent work while ensuring the smooth and safe operation of critical site services. You will play a key role in maintaining steam, water, refrigeration, CO₂, and air systems, as well as overseeing the Waste Water Treatment Plant.

We’re looking for safety-conscious individuals with a strong problem-solving mindset and a commitment to continuous improvement. If you have experience in industrial refrigeration systems or water treatment plants, that’s a bonus—but above all, we’re looking for someone who aligns with Asahi’s values of excellence, innovation, and teamwork.

Please note: This is an 18-month fixed-term contract role. Initially, you will work a 38-hour week on Day Shift, transitioning to a Day Shift Relief capacity once trained and deemed competent to cover leave within the 24/7 operational team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate and maintain critical site services, including steam, water, refrigeration, CO₂, and air systems.
  • Manage the operation of the Waste Water Treatment Plant, including handling hazardous chemicals and substances.
  • Apply problem-solving tools such as Process Indicators (PIs), 5 Whys, and problem-solving triggers to resolve issues and drive continuous improvement.
  • Use an Operator Work Station (OWS) to monitor and optimize system performance.
  • Ensure seamless shift handovers by effectively cascading key information.
  • Follow strict safety and compliance protocols, particularly in handling hazardous materials like ammonia, ethanol brine, acids, and compressed gases.

About You

We’re looking for a highly responsible and self-motivated individual who thrives in an autonomous environment. You’ll be a great fit for this role if you have:

  • A continuous improvement mindset with strong problem-solving skills.
  • Previous experience in a similar role, preferably in industrial refrigeration systems or water treatment plants with anaerobic treatment processes.
  • Advanced Boiler Operator qualifications (preferred but not required—training support provided).
  • A valid forklift license or willingness to obtain one.
  • Competence in Microsoft Suite (Excel, Word, Teams) and SAP (advantageous).
  • A strong understanding of safety procedures and hazardous substance management.
