The Dan Murphy's National Account Manager - Commercial Beer is a high-profile, strategic role with responsibilities both internally and externally. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in shaping the business strategy to ensure continuous evolution, meeting the needs of our retailer, consumers, and adapting to the dynamic business environment. This role focuses on delivering profit, revenue, and other performance targets through account-specific planning, execution, and strong customer relationship management, driving strong category performance, and aligning with joint priorities.
This will be a fixed-term position for approx. 12 months
Key Accountabilities
- Manage the relationship with the customer and their key internal stakeholders to drive collaboration & alignment between our businesses
- Engage with primary customer contact to conduct joint business planning
- Understand key drivers of customers business (the economics) and the banner strategy
- Achieve agreed brand and commercial targets in line with the national account strategy and individual goals and objectives
- Monitor business performance and return on investment including shared post-evaluation of investment activities as a platform for continuous learning and improvement
- Build effective long-term relationships with customers by understanding their key business drivers & requirements
- Maximize time spent with customers in up sell, cross sell and brand building by effectively leveraging CUB & customer game plan
- Review outlet/ venue performance and identify opportunities and obstacles to drive growth
- Drive a strong and consistent focus on people (e.g. contributing to talent discussions, sales capability, performance and culture).
- Coach and challenge the team to raise the bar and develop a team culture of sharing learning.
About you
- Proven track record in sales and customer relationship management dealing with major accounts
- Experience in negotiating and closing commercial contracts
- Solid sales or marketing experience within a blue chip consumer goods company
- Trade / Liquor knowledge
- Strategic account planning; able to apply market/ industry knowledge and insights to evaluate and develop CUB and customer opportunities
- Excellent communication and presentation skills – including developing and delivering high-quality, articulate formal and informal presentations
