Your Impact
As the Brewing Area Manager at our Cascade site in South Hobart, you will play a pivotal role in driving technical excellence within the brewing process. Reporting to the Brewing Manager, this position will see you define, build, and implement new processes, establishing robust standards that align with the Good Operating Practices and Process Technical Specifications. You will be the first point of escalation for brewing-related technical issues and provide hands-on support and technical expertise to ensure optimal process performance. This role offers a unique opportunity to influence change and continuous improvement across our brewing operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive the implementation of process standards and control measures to optimize brewing quality and performance
- Lead and manage process changes, ensuring adherence to change management principles and procedures
- Analyze brewing data and performance metrics to identify improvements, address technical issues, and ensure alignment with brewing standards
- Develop and mentor shift teams in brewing practices, fostering a proactive and engaged team culture
- Collaborate with brewing teams to define and document Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Work Instructions
- Monitor process changes and analyze the outcomes to ensure consistent quality and efficiency
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards, supporting a safe and sustainable workplace
About You
To succeed in this role, you will have a technical background in brewing or a related field, coupled with strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Your ability to adapt, learn quickly, and make independent decisions will be key to driving performance in this hands-on role.
In addition, you will possess:
- Tertiary qualifications in Food Technology, Chemical Engineering, or a related field is beneficial
- Completion of formal brewing training such as the IBD program, with demonstrated expertise in brewing processes
- Proven ability to lead change and manage process improvements effectively
- The ability to influence key stakeholders in new process implementations
- Excellent communication skills to engage and influence across teams
- A proactive approach to health and safety with knowledge of environmental best practices
