We have an exciting opportunity for a Brewing Coordinator to join our passionate team at Papakura. Reporting to the Beverage Manager, you will lead high-performance teams to meet safety, quality, and brewing targets while fostering a collaborative and engaged team environment. Your leadership will be critical in managing both the brewing processes and the people involved, ensuring that we meet production plans, optimize efficiency, and maintain product quality. This is a fantastic opportunity to leverage your expertise in process and people management to drive continuous improvement in a fast-paced FMCG environment.

 

Please note: This role rotates between Day shifts and Afternoon shifts.

 

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Lead and manage brewing teams to execute production plans in alignment with safety, quality, and operational KPIs.
  • Oversee brewing processes, including wort production, fermentation, and filtration, ensuring adherence to quality standards.
  • Balance operational management with effective team leadership, including rostering, performance management, and training.
  • Drive process improvements and cost efficiencies through Small Group Activities and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Influence key stakeholders and collaborate across departments such as Quality, Planning, and Maintenance to ensure smooth operations.
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards and statutory requirements.
  • Monitor and report on production efficiency, downtime, and cost management.

 

About You

 

You are a driven, creative individual with a strong background in team leadership and brewing or FMCG environments. You have a talent for balancing process management with people management, driving results through effective stakeholder collaboration and problem-solving. You are committed to fostering a positive and engaged team culture and thrive in environments that challenge you to innovate and improve.

 

Additionally, you possess the following:

 

  • At least 1-2 years of team leadership experience, preferably in an FMCG, Brewing, or similar environment.
  • Strong influencing and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to engage across multiple teams and functions.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities, with a focus on continuous improvement and operational excellence.
  • Tertiary qualifications in Management, Food Technology, Science, Engineering, Brewing, or a related discipline would be ideal.
  • A Diploma in Brewing would be desirable but not essential.
  • Experience with SAP or MS Dynamics preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
