An exciting opportunity for a passionate Capital Project Manager to join our team based in Melbourne, Victoria is now available. Reporting to the Manufacturing Capital Manager – Southern, you will lead capital engineering projects within our Manufacturing sites. Your role will be to design, plan, and execute projects, ensuring they meet the scope, timeline, and budget as outlined in the business case. 

 

In this position, you will thrive in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple projects and collaborating with various cross-functional teams. Your technical expertise, analytical mindset, and ability to communicate effectively will drive the successful delivery of projects, ensuring compliance with all safety and regulatory standards.



Please note: This role will see you working predominantly across our three manufacturing sites; Abbotsford, Laverton, and Tullamarine, with some work at our other Southern manufacturing sites as required. As such, flexibility with travel will be a requirement for this role.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Deliver capital projects safely, in full, on time and on budget.
  • Develop project scopes from initiation concepts with the capital team and key stakeholders.
  • Develop project budgets to include capital cost estimates, once-off operating cost estimates and asset write-off costs.
  • Plan project tasks, resources, and interdependencies using Gantt charts to deliver successful project outcomes.
  • Manage all project delivery risks, cash-flow forecasting and key stakeholder communication.
  • Ensure all projects comply with the relevant Australian Standards, local codes, by-laws and regulatory compliance requirements.
  • Complete project tendering developing technical documentation, design specifications, drawings, and commercial contracts.
  • Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives with engineering systems, project management procedures and engineering standards.
  • Project safety leadership to ensure a safe and healthy workplace.

 

About You

 

You have experience managing multiple engineering projects in fast-paced environments, with excellent communication and influencing skills to manage stakeholders. Additionally, you possess the following:

 

  • Ideally, 5+ years of experience in a similar role within the FMCG, Food Manufacturing, Pharmaceutical or similar industries.
  • Process Technician experience beneficial.
  • Flexible, adaptable, and capable of managing change within project timelines.
  • Strong technical understanding with well-developed analytical and technical writing skills.
  • Strong financial management skills and experience.
  • Understanding of continuous improvement and lean methodologies.
  • Experience with MS Office, MS Project and AutoCAD is preferred.
  • Tertiary qualification in process, mechanical, chemical, or electrical engineering would be ideal.
