Are you a strategic finance leader with a proven ability to drive profitability and growth in a dynamic and busy environment? We are seeking a Senior Finance Manager for our Independents channel. You be the trusted business adviser to the Head of Finance – Retail to optimise sales, customer investment and business performance.
You will provide thought leadership supported by robust analytics and insights to guide decision-making and maintain leadership in priority categories, customer segments, and channels. You will take full accountability for the Independents P&L. You’ll monitor pricing strategies and customer investments, to optimise margins and profitability.
Key responsibilities
- Deliver accurate, actionable financial, commercial, and strategic analysis. You will influence customer and business plans, investment levels, and contract negotiations, ensuring financial decisions are data-driven and aligned with company objectives.
- Challenge and drive improvements in the strategic, commercial, operational, and financial aspects of the Independents channel. Your insights will help optimise profitability and cash flows while enhancing the return on investment.
- Work closely with the Commercial Operations Finance team to manage the delivery of key financial milestones, including budgeting, forecasting, monthly reporting, and strategic planning processes (e.g., Integrated Business Planning (IBP))
About you:
- Graduate qualification in Finance or Accounting
- Post-graduate qualification (e.g., CA/CPA) is preferred
- Proven experience in senior financial roles with end-to-end P&L responsibility
- Deep understanding of financial principles, business drivers, and value creation levers
- Previous experience in a complex financial environment preferably within multinational FMCG/Retail environments
- Proficiency in data analysis and visualisation tools, with the ability to synthesise complex information and present it clearly
- Demonstrated ability to think strategically, commercially, and drive change across the business
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to effectively partner with and influence senior leaders and cross-functional teams
- Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to navigate ambiguity and provide sound, well-reasoned decisions in a challenging market
- Advanced experience in Excel and PowerBI or similar is essential, a working knowledge of the Business Agreement Register, Sales Force, and PowerPoint will be well regarded.
