Your Impact


This role is an exceptional opportunity to join a newly formed Risk and Assurance Team covering the operations of Asahi Beverages Oceania. Using your ability to build lasting relationships, your strong communication skills, and enthusiasm, this position will play a leading role in the execution and delivery of the Internal Control program.

Leveraging your extensive experience within a controls & compliance environment, you  will ensure appropriate control frameworks are operational and policy compliance requirements are met.  Your business process background and exposure to certification requirements will see you coordinate and facilitate the execution and evidencing of controls.  Coupled with business process cycle experience, you will influence and drive change management whilst delivering initiatives to strengthen the controls environment at Asahi.


Key responsibilities &  Controls & Compliance


  • Coordinate the evaluation of internal control over financial reporting within the region, as per the guidelines and timetable provided by the global parent company. This is referred to as the J-SOX program for Asahi Beverages.
  • Partner with key stakeholders ensuring compliance and completion of their J-SOX & Governance responsibilities
  • Liaison with control owners to coordinate the documentation of their J-SOX questionaries and other Control Self-Assessment cycles
  • Evaluate current control operation and design documentation and identify gaps to established standards
  • Develop and implement plans to address identified gaps in control operation and design documentation
  • Champion the adoption of Control Management software solutions to deliver administrative efficiencies
  • Support the Internal Control Manager to scope and expand the program to achieve appropriate assurance in Internal Controls and disclosure of financial reporting across the group of companies


Policy Governance


  • Manage and lead the ‘Policy Governance Framework’ to support the development, maintenance, and adherence to policies
  • Develop a plan of action to ensure policies are relevant, reliable, and assessable
  • Review and approve policies scheduled for creation or change as per policy writing guidelines.
  • Develop and coordinate policy compliance testing and assurance programs
  • Provide support to the Policy Owners, Policy Contacts and the functional representative within the Policy Governance Team
  • Collaborate with Internal Communication in the management and design of a central repository for Policy documents
  • Provide support to AHA Companies in matters of J-SOX, Controls, Policy and Governance


About You


  • Bachelor’s Degree,
  • Professional qualification preferred (e.g. CA, CPA)
  • Post-qualified experience, working in a Finance, IT, Business Services, or Internal Audit department, or a professional services firm
  • Compliance experience in coordinating and auditing financial compliance programs, preferably SOX or J-SOX
  • Finance, IT and Business Process knowledge – critical to evaluating risks pertaining to impact and reliability of financial reporting
  • Controls operation, evaluation and design expertise – required to provide advice and assistance on control and compliance matters
  • Administrative & Project Management skills – documentation management, timetable management, status & issues reporting and audit management software
  • Ability to work autonomously, to take initiative and be proactive


A self-starter, you have the proven ability to communicate with, and gain confidence at a senior level.  You will have professional services  or industry experience, with strong written and verbal communication skills, a process driven mindset and exceptional relationship management and influencing skills.
