We are looking for an inspirational leader for one the largest beverages companies in Australasia. Representing some of NZs highest regarded and most loved brands such as Long White, Asahi, Peroni and many more, you will lead a field sales team of 7 across all channels (Grocery, Traditional and On Premise), where you will develop a culture worth belonging to with leaders worth following and big dreams worth chasing.

In addition, this role will see you provide people, customer, commercial leadership that will deliver better financial outcomes for Asahi and our customers and build our corporate brand and culture externally and internally within the Asahi group, making the NZ business an employer of choice among entrepreneurial people.

This role can be based in either the Bay of Plenty or the Waikato


Key responsibilities

  • Leading and engaging a field sales team in the health, safety, and wellbeing of each other individually and collectively
  • Develop, and grow the culture via better behaviour and competency-based leadership, monitoring, training, and recruitment that delivers greater sales force capabilities and ultimately delivers on our customer promise
  • Execute the go-to-market plan across key Channels and Customers supported by KPI, behaviour and competency-based leadership
  • Ensure the highest level of customer support is maintained to ensure competitive advantage
  • Develop close customer relationship via personal details being captured and CRM management of call cycles and customer contact plans – i.e. regional managers of retail and key owner operators or buying groups are engaged in a formalised contact plan
  • Drive efficiency and performance across the sales lifecycle with specific focus on customer relationships and service.
  • Negotiate deals, maintain and grow customer relationships by identifying new opportunities and ensuring they are actioned and captured


About You

  • 2-3 years’ experience at a team or customer leadership level (with a business in the FMCG sector preferable) with proven experience of working in high volume consumer markets and understanding business growth drivers.
  • A leader who understands the levers of sales growth open to the company and who has the ability to drive the functional capabilities to produce maximum result
  • Capable of and highly motivated to use the inherent assets of the organisation and lead the key customer sales effort and business unit to capitalise on the wider business achieving commercial success
