The opportunity

The GM Manufacturing is an excellent role reporting to the Chief Supply Chain Officer and forms an integral part of our leadership team. In this role, you will lead and influence the non-alcohol manufacturing operations of the Asahi Beverages Group in Australia.

This is a business-critical role in which you will drive efficiency and quality whilst maintaining a strong culture across all sites, fostering a high performance and continuous improvement mentality.

Your strong leadership skills and LEAN manufacturing experience will see you deliver best in class manufacturing operations to achieve the broader business objectives.


Key responsibilities include:

  • Drive a safety culture via practical, hands on approach to all aspects of the operation
  • Drive continuous improvement across all sites via the Operational Excellence System 
  • Develop a strong pipeline of CI projects, delivering on KPI targets and implementing a program of continuous cost reduction
  • Create a framework to deliver  sustainability pathway for the plants
  • Develop and facilitate implementation of change initiatives
  • Provide leadership and mentoring to manufacturing teams to improve team effectiveness and drive a performance culture


About you

Your strong manufacturing and continuous improvement experience within a fast-paced environment will see you be successful in this role. In addition to managing a large operational budget, you will have significant Operational and Commercial experience in an integrated supply chain environment, you have been responsible for a large P&L or Operating Budget. In addition, we are seeking:

  • Degree qualified in Engineering, Manufacturing or related discipline
  • A strong people leader with the ability to engage, motivate and drive large scale change
  • Strong quality background and hand on experience using six sigma and lean manufacturing principles
  • Hands on experience with large volume packing lines
  • Demonstrated experience delivering cost down projects and leading significant improvements in an FMCG manufacturing environment.
