About the Role
Reporting to the Manufacturing Manager, this role is responsible for delivering plant Mechanical Efficiency through the Asset Care and Autonomous Maintenance Program under the Operational Excellence System (OES). This role will provide technical/engineering support to the manufacturing reliability team as well as drive the technical/engineering continuous improvement activities for the manufacturing business unit. This position plays a critical role in the effectiveness of the Huntingwood site and the ability to plan effectively is key to success. Please note that there will be a requirement to be on-call at times to support the resolution of critical issues.


Key Responsibilities

  • Liaise with the Maintenance teams, including contractors, Manufacturing Managers and Production Schedulers to review production downtime and identify key systemic issues within the production lines
  • Work with the Maintenance team to ensure they are achieving their performance and continuous improvement objectives
  • Sponsor compliance with statutory and company policy guidelines with particular focus on work method safety and routine servicing of essential services
  • Meet planning schedules and ensure service level targets are met
  • Continually improve asset reliability through proactive and directed planning of maintenance activities
  • Implement OES tools and standards to drive Line efficiency
  • Perform Root Cause Analysis on all critical failures of plant within the Manufacturing business unit and ensure action items derived are implemented and sustained


About you

  • Proven reliability and/or engineering experience within a fast paced FMCG or manufacturing environment
  • Strong project management and planning capability
  • Mechanical or Electrical trade and/or Tertiary qualifications in Mechanical, Mechatronics or Chemical Engineering
  • Demonstrated leadership experience, with strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • A passion for continuous improvement with an intimate knowledge of Safety management
